Paul continues to be our little ball of sunshine. He is almost always happy. Except for when he wants food--which is whenever he sees it. If someone around him is eating and he is not, he starts fussing until he gets some too. He started eating some solid food at about 5 months old, and we have yet to find something he won't eat. It's hard to get the food to his mouth fast enough. He used to want to hold the spoon and feed himself, but then I think he figured out that he got more food faster if he just let Mom feed him. But if I'm not continuously putting spoonfuls of food in his mouth, he starts crying. It's pretty comical. His favorite foods so far have been sweet potatoes, graham crackers, frozen bananas, and ice cream. :)
Even though he loves to eat, he's not quite as chubby as he was at four months, and his height-to-weight ratio has balanced out a bit. He was 26 inches long and just over 17 lbs at his check-up. That is 30th and 41st percentile, respectively. He wears mostly 6-9 month shirts, but he still fits most 3-6 month pants. He and Anna are both in size 3 diapers. :)
Paul learned to roll over from front to back at four months old. For awhile, you couldn't keep him on his tummy for more than a second because he just flipped right over. At five months, he started rolling from back to front, and then he was all over the place. He rolls all the way across the room and can usually get where he wants to go. He can move around in a circle on his tummy and is just starting to be able to scoot himself forward with his arms. I think he will be crawling in the next few weeks. He started sitting up on his own at about 5 1/2 months.

Paul has really discovered his voice in the last few weeks. He babbles and buzzes his lips and squeals all the time now. He can be pretty loud when he wants to. And he loves to laugh, mostly at his sister.
absolutely ADORES Anna. Whenever Paul wakes up from his nap before Anna, I take him with me to get Anna when she wakes up. As soon as he sees her, he breaks into the biggest smile! When she is in the room, his eyes follow her every move. Almost everything Anna does he thinks is funny. And she loves to make him laugh, so it works out pretty well. I love how much fun they already have together.
Paul loves bath time, especially now that he can sit up and interact more with Anna. He splashes constantly.
Paul doesn't snuggle quite as much as he used to, and I'm already missing it. He doesn't just snuggle up on my shoulder anytime, anywhere and go to sleep. Now he tends to fight naps, especially when there's things to distract him (and Anna's the worst distraction haha). I usually have to take him to his room, turn the lights off, stand up with him, and rock/bounce him until he goes to sleep. I still enjoy it, but I miss the snuggles.
Even though he's harder to get to sleep, he is still a pretty sound sleeper. Every once in awhile he will have a night where he wakes up a couple times, but usually it's just once to nurse, and then he goes back to sleep until usually 9:00 a.m. And sometimes he'll just sleep straight through until 9:00. It's pretty awesome. He takes two, sometimes three naps. He usually goes to bed between 8:30 and 10:00, depending on if he takes a third nap or not. He also has started to prefer sleeping on his tummy, and we find him like this...
Paul is right in the stage where he loves to grab things and put them in his mouth. We have to be careful holding him on our laps at the table, and Anna has to watch out for her hair. His favorite toys are fuzzy things like stuffed animals and anything he can shake or hit together to make noise. At mealtimes, he loves to bang his hands on the tray of his seat.
Paul is starting to show some separation anxiety. Three times now, he's cried the entire time when we've left him with a sitter. Anna NEVER cried when we left, so this is new territory for us. I'm not sure how I feel about it. It's sweet that he wants his mommy and daddy, but it's also hard to enjoy a date night when you know your baby is probably crying the whole time you're gone. :( Hopefully, he'll outgrow it before too long. I told Haley she is just going to have to babysit every week while she's at college, so Paul will be used to her and not cry, haha.
Let's see, what else? Oh, he got his first tooth two weeks ago! He didn't have too much trouble with it, just a little trouble sleeping for a few nights. Still waiting for the other bottom one to pop up.
He is really growing up way too fast! I actually really enjoyed the newborn stage this time around, probably because he was such a cuddly, happy baby and slept so well. I feel really sad sometimes that he's already 6 months old. Time went by so fast! With Anna, I was always so excited for the next new milestone, the next new stage. With Paul, I wish he would stop changing so fast. But that's probably another common complaint of Second-Child-Syndrome. :)
